I have a commission request from someone on DA for a team done in my style.
The teams not too hard, except Blaziken
What are you Blaziken....just what are you doing. seriously.
So i gave it some thought and basically came up with my own little back-story on the critters.
Basically, Torchic, the tiny little fire bird Pokémon, craves combat, lives by a sense of honour, a proud race. But seeing as they are but chicks, they long for the ability to fight with elegance and grace. When they force themselves to evolve, they attain this, firstly in combusken, whose limbs become longer and stronger and finally into Blaziken, whose humanoid appearance is revered by the lower evolutions.
The basic idea being that Blaziken is a bird that forced itself into a human shape for its art, martial combat.
I decided that they would be these very proud, almost shamanic creatures, with these manes of feathers surrounding their faces and torso that blend into thicker, flame retardant feathers near the legs and waist. Where there were short stubby winglets, there are now powerful, three-fingered hands and muscular arms.
Older Blaziken control Broods of their younger evolutionary groups and younger kin. The oldest is usually the shaman of the group, the most powerful and the most mysterious in its abilities, gathering little trophies from battles past and adorning themselves with them into small headdresses and nomadic garb.
But yes. i threw these together over a few days in between work, hope you like them. I saw some other blaziken attempts, and soem of them jsut went for the bird approach, so i went for the bipedal version, instead of large, raptor birds, i went for a totally unique path. i hope you like it
